(Cor Madou's visit)
Who is this guy ?.. He's a guy from Switzerland.. and i think he is coaching this team in Switzerland.. quite pro one la.. yea.. studying a degree in coaching handball woh.. so i guess he know how to coach la.. let me share with you what he emailed me.. i guess it help you guys alot on the understanding of HANDBALL..

Hello Yaw wai,

It would be interesting to know If you ever did some assessments with your players. Speed, jumping power, endurance etc. The modern handball requires a lot of speed and jumping power combined with a fast and exact throw (throwing velocity over 100km/hours). But the most of that one can learn. More important is an understanding of the game, knowing when to play fast and when to play slow. Know the tactics the coach has eveloped.

Do you construct any plays your back centre has to initiate during the game or are you just pülaying on intuition? Do you have enough left handed players? Do you have a pivot player and some good wing players<'

Last but not least. We have noticed in a study, that teams with the most strength and power (read: tallest and heaviest players) win the league. Resistance training therefor should be a part of the preparation. A lot of players love to do it, unfortunately not all, even on our level.

At the moment our team is in a very good form. We won the 1/8 finals agains the first league team 32-18 and are now in the 1/4 finals. Already halve o fthe first league teams have been thrown out of the cup. With any luck we could enter the "final four", that is a tournement at the end of december. Semi-finals on day one and finals on day two.

But saturday we play against the number 3 /Stäfa) of our leaque for the normal competiton. That team also wants to promote into the highest division, so they will fight like hell I am afraid. They already lost 3 points sofar, we none.

Hope to hear from you soon. I am waiting for nws from the national Sports Institute when I could come. Probably may-july.

So i guess he will be coming to Malaysia around mid of next year.. Interesting ? =)
(25th November! HOHO!! Birthday Boy will be bashed up!)
Wong Horng Yaw!.. you are so dead on saturday!.. well.. dam unlucky la.. your bday falls on the day we have handball training somemore.. hahaha.. its up to the team la wut they want to do with you.. so dont try to escape eh.. !.. become keeper the whole day ?.. wut say you ?.. hahaha.. become keeper and without wall.. lolz.. IT'S OVER HY!.. Its over!.. Hahaha.. See you man..

Hey guys. I came across this article in The Star Online. (Yeah, I still read the local paper even though I'm like 10000 miles away. Very nerdy, I know. ( : ) Well anyway, here's the link.

http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2006/11/17/central/16018894&sec=central

But I'm gonna post the article here anyway, you know, just to make this post look a bit longer. Hee hee.

Trials to select handball squads

THE Selangor Handball Association (SHA) will be having selection trials this weekend at the Kuala Langat District Council court in Banting.

The trials are to pick their men and women squads for the national championships.

The trials will be from 9.30am to 5pm.

Handball players, aged above 18 and residing in Selangor and keen to represent Selangor in the national championships are encouraged to attend the trials.

For more details, contact Chan Ah Choy at 016-6217634

Well anyway, all of you should try out (especially WL + Ka Ling). I'm sure you guys would do well. Good luck!

And girls, GO FOR TRAINING, you bloody lazy buggers.

Training Schedule [ November 13-19 ]
Next training, 18th November will be cancelled due to the court being booked by the juniors. I think there will still be people going there to play la.. so if u would like to watch the juniors playing against other team, feel free to go la.. you can even form your own team and join in as well.. but i will not be there.. Coz Alex HL HY and I got frisbee competition.. and SAM people got exams.. Good Luck to them !.. Check out the next training time and venue on the next post.. See you..

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR THE GIRL'S TEAM..
What happened to all the girls ? X_X .. every training also like one or two person attending.. So disappointing.. If it goes on like this every week.. i dont think the girls will have any difference in next year's competition.. Start looking for more players or ITS OVER =P ..

NEWS
(Finland boys)
There will be one or two guys from Finland will be joining us in training.. I am not very sure they are joining our team or just for the sake of playing handball.. but i guess its a good sign for the team and a bad sign for the juniors.. Work harder guys!..
(Malaysia OPEN Competition)
Guys and girls, i received a good news *bad news to some of them*.. that our club might have a chance to compete in that tournament.. depending on ermm.. i dunno.. hahaha.. the organizer ?.. hope that we can la.. because it will be a superb chance for us to test our skills in the national handball level so that we can prepare a better team in the next year's National Handball Club League.. Bad news for those people who just left =P HAHAH.. jkjk.. bad news for the girls team as well.. If they continue to not come for training.. =P
